Welcome To The Family Mackenzie Joy Robertson...

Before we begin Little Bug's Journey with his new sister, we have to apologize for the delay in posting and the order of the pictures. We have so many memories that we want to share that the order got kinda messed up. But before we begin Little Bug would like to introduce you to someone..........

Hi Everybody, I'd like to introduce you to my new baby sister....Mackenzie Joy!!! I already know that I love her (or so my Daddy and Mama say I do!!!)

Daddy and Mama say I have to tell you all the specifics about Mackenzie's birth or else the women who look at the blog will be wanting more info.....So here goes.......
We all thought that Daddy and Mama were going to the hospital first thing on Monday morning to be induced for the delivery of our new baby, but our new baby had a mind of her own. Mama started feeling "funny" at 2am on Monday morning and told Daddy that she thought they needed to go to the hospital. Daddy didn't really believe Mama so they went back to bed until about 3am when Mama was moaning really bad. The contractions were coming every minute or so and Mama could barely get out of bed. So the mad dash began as they tried to get out the door to the hospital. Mama was frustrated because she couldn't find time between 1 minute contractions to put on her makeup and curl her hair. Daddy was doddling because he still thought there was lots of time to get out the door. At 3:30am Mama's water broke and she was really in lots of pain. She finally got to the car, but Daddy was still not ready to go. Daddy and Mama finally left the house at 3:53am and they sped down the hill to Auburn Regional Medical Center. They arrived at the hospital ER entrance at 4:02 and Daddy put Mama in a wheelchair and got her up to the family birth center on the 3rd floor. They checked Mama into her room at 4:09 and she was dilated to a 4 and Mama was asking for something for the pain. They said that the epidural was coming, but Mama knew it wasn't going to be soon enough. Daddy left to go back down and park the car and Mama kept telling that nurse that she had to push. The nurse kept saying, "No, It's not time to push.....Just breathe!!" "BREATHE", Mama said, "I need to scream because it hurts so bad...." The hospital was definitely not ready for this surprise delivery and so when the doctor walked into the room (who wasn't even Mama's doctor) he actually yelled at her and told her to stop screaming or she was going to hurt herself. He even snapped his fingers in her face.....that was mean!!!!! Daddy walked back in the room as Mama was telling the nurse and doctor that she had to push and they checked and she had dilated from a 4 to a 9 in 10 minutes. 3-4 pushes later the doctor said, "You have a beautiful baby girl!!!" She was born at 4:29am so we were only in the room for 20 minutes. Pretty dramatic story for a little girl, but Daddy and Mama say it was all worth it!!! She was born April 2nd, 2007 and she weighed in at 8 pounds 2 ounces, 20 1/2 inches long with lots of dark hair. So there's the story.....Now here's the pictures.....Once again, sorry they are not in good order, but at least they are here.

Mackenzie Joy trying on Mama's dedication bonnet that was worn 37 years ago.

Today, April 5th, 2007 was a major milestone for me.......I rolled over, unassisted, for the very first time. You would have thought that Daddy and Mama had won the lottery because there was clapping and fan fair like you wouldn't believe!!! Yeah for me!!!!! I'm growing more and more every day. Hey, by the way, did Daddy and Mama ever tell everyone that I also have two teeth now. Yup, that's right, I have chompers and I love to bite things!!!! Ok, now back to Mackenzie Joy.....

Here is Mackenzie getting snuggled with Grandma Robertson on the night we came home from the hospital.

Daddy and Mama and Grandma Nanny and Little Bug leaving the hospital with "Kenzie Joy". Daddy thought it was just hilarious that he found the biggest wheelchair possible for Mama to sit in on the way out. Mama didn't think that was so funny at all!!!!

Here comes Daddy with the car seat for Mackenzie. Hey, I used to sit in that thing......But now I have a bigger car seat that is way more comfortable.

Just home from the hospital and Mama is holding Mackenzie Joy at the computer because Mama wants to take a look at the blog.

Daddy and Mackenzie just after coming home.

Mackenzie Joy wrapped up like a little "Sweet Pea". That's what Mama is calling her!!!

Me and Mama playing the "Bop, Bop, Bop" game!!!!! She says it, then I say it.....You get the drift, right???

Daddy and Mama say that my little sister is going to take a litte time away from me.....Hey, does that mean we won't go flyin' around the house as much????? When can I send her back????

Aaaawwwwhhhhhh...............You mean I can't send her back???????? What???????????

Mackenzie says, "Heeeee Heeeeee........That's right Big Brother, you can't send me back!!!"
Oh man.........I've got a lot of adjusting to do.......I really do have to get used to sharing Daddy and Mama!!! BUMMER!!!!!!!!!!!

Leaving Mama's hospital room #336 to go home with our new baby girl.

Daddy and Mama and Mackenzie with Doctor Bigler. He was the doctor who was supposed to deliver Mackenzie, but he couldn't get there in time.

Daddy's feeding Mama breakfast because she was nursing Mackenzie and just as this picture snapped the pancake with syrup on it fell right in the middle of Mama's hand.....Hee Hee Daddy and Mama are funny folks!!!

The Happy Robertson Family!!!!

What a beautiful family I have.....I love being the big brother.

Mackenzie Joy has already developed a personality....Look, She's actually puckering up for a kiss from Mama!!!

Hee Hee.....I think she just laughed out loud!!!

Mackenzie Joy and Grandpa John...I think this makes 19 grand kids for Grandpa and Grandma Robertson (I'll have to check on that, but I'm pretty sure that's right!!)

Our friends Duke and Shawn came to see the new baby at the hospital and they thought she was just the cat's meow!!! Just look at them....They already adore her!!!

Here's the gang.....Duke and Shawn and the Babcock's...Mark, Racquel, Taylor, Sydnee and another friend!!! Thanks for visiting my baby sister....

Daddy catching a little cat nap with Mackenzie......I love it when Daddy takes little naps like that with me. Hey, I hope those naps aren't going to stop......

Mama couldn't wait to get Mackenzie's first bath done so she could put her in her own clothes and put girly things in her hair!!!!

Even though Daddy and Mama never looked at the results from the Amnio, Mama knew in her heart of hearts that this baby was going to be a girl. She knew from the start that I was going to be a boy too......She says that Mama's have something called intuition.....I guess she was right on the money!!!!

Mama was prepared for a little girl with lots of pink clothes and bows!!!! Hey, isn't she cute!!

Actually, she's way more than cute....She's gorgeous!!!!

Mackenzie Joy's first visitor....Auntie Maureen!!!

Daddy and Mama the night before Mackenzie Joy was born. They had dinner out at the same restaurant they ate at the night before I was born, Auguri Italian Restaurant in Auburn.

This picture was taken of Daddy and Mama just 10 minutes after Mackenzie Joy was born!!

Mama and Mackenzie having a little bonding time!!!

Daddy's having his first little talk with my new baby sister. I remember my first talk from Daddy.....He told me all about our family and all about how much he loved me....I'm sure he's telling "Kenzie" the very same things.

Mama and Mackenzie having their first nap together.....Mama has a picture of me and her just like this!!!!!

Well, there you have it.....My new little sister, Mackenzie Joy Robertson in all her glory. More info and pictures to come, but for now, I think we all need a little rest!!!!

GOTCHA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Mama got Daddy good today.........It was early afternoon and she waited for just the right moment....and she exclaimed, "Honey, my water just broke!!" Daddy hurried in to find Mama and there she was saying that her water had broken and it was time to go the hospital. Daddy looked dumb-founded and said, "Really???!!!" And Mama said, "Nope, April Fools!!!!!" Hee Hee Hee Hee Hee!!!!! Mama had such a good laugh, I though for sure she was going to have the baby right then and there!!!

Anyway, everything is fine around here today. Mama and Daddy are taking it easy preparing for the big day tomorrow......Baby's coming!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm so excited to be a big brother, or at least Mama keeps telling me to be excited. I'm not quite sure how things are going to change around here, but I keep hearing Daddy and Mama talk about how they're worried about me feeling left out. I don't know how that could possibly happen because they pay so much attention to me, but maybe this Big Brother thing is something I should be worried about. Nah, on second thought, even if there are big changes around here I know one thing to be true about my Daddy and Mama, they have so much love it runs out their ears......so I'm not worried. It will be fun to see how I handle my new duties.

I better go for now, I'm waiting for Grandma Nanny to come watch me so Daddy and Mama can go out to dinner. They're going to the same restaurant that they went to the night before I was born. They're such saps!!!!!! Oh well, I like 'em that way!!!! We'll be posting information on the new bug-a-boo before you know it, so stay close to the blog, OK.

The Latest...............

Yesterday was the day to go back in to the doctor to check up on the baby and on the blood pressure issue. Unfortunately, blood pressure was sky rocketing 196/101!!!!!!!!!!! Yikes!!!!!!!!! Needless to say, they sent me right over to the hospital for the non stress test and, once again, baby was doing just fine and after 3 hours on the monitor the blood pressure finally came down, way down 113/50!!! How's that for recovery!!!! I am dialated to a 2 and having contractions every 7 minutes or so!!!! Baby is definately ready to come and meet the family!!

So the bottom line is this............they sent me home from the hospital on my own recognisance to rest and relax and lay low until Monday morning at 6AM when they will induce labor and we will have the baby sometime Monday afternoon!! WHEW!!!!!!!!! Good thing I went through my nesting stage about 3 weeks ago and everything is ready and prepared and we are anxious to meet our new little bundle of love!!!!!! So that's the story!!! We will keep posting until Monday and then hopefully we will be able to post pictures of the new baby sometime Monday evening or Tuesday depending on how things go!!!! Thanks for all your prayers.

Bed Rest????????????

Well, today was a bit of an adventure for Mama. It was check-up day with the doctor for new baby and of all days, Mama's blood pressure was a little high. So the doctor that was filling in for the regular doc sent her over to the hospital for something called a non stress test. The hospital said that the baby looked great and was very active, but Mama's blood pressure only came down when she was resting. So, the hospital sent her home with strict bed rest orders. Now I don't know about you, but that doesn't sound too fun to me and I think Mama's pretty upset about it too. She goes to see the doc next Thursday and hopefully things will be looking up, but for now she is going to have to rest, rest, rest. I don't really know how she's going to do that because I'm really a handful these days. I don't like to stay in one place. I like to go flying around the house and I like to move around from place to place. We'll just see about this bed rest thing Mama. I'll try to be good, but I think we're going to have to break the rules every now and then and get out of bed!!!! We'll keep you posted!!!

Update On The Baby!!!!

Well we're 20 days and counting to the due date of Itty Bitty Bug-a-boo!!! Mama is hoping that baby comes early as the miserable moments of pregnancy have set in. Swollen feet & ankles, tiny bladder, humongous tummy and no sleep.....not the ingredients for the most happy woman in the world. I'm trying very hard not to complain, but I am definitely hoping for an early delivery. My doctor, however, thinks that this baby will be right on time. So far no dilation and no baby in sight at the moment. Plus, our doctor is going wild pig and boar hunting in Texas until the 29th of the month so he asked me to just lay low and wait for his return and then we could talk about having this baby. UUUUUGGGGGHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!

So, the waiting game is on. We'll keep you all posted on baby and how we're doing with the waiting in the coming days. Thanks for your continued prayers for energy and rest during these miserable and long days!!!! I guess we shouldn't look at them as miserable because we have such an exciting outcome to look forward to........God give us the strength to endure!!!!!

Happy Birthday Daddy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Today is a very special day at the Robertson house. Daddy is having a birthday!!!!!!!!! Yippee!! Mama is busy in kitchen making his favorite meal; slow cooked BBQ Ribs & crunchy potatoes and Creme Brulee for dessert. He always tells us, "No gifts!" and we promise and say, "OK!" But he doesn't know there are plenty of birthday gifts that will make their appearance later in the evening. Hee Hee Hee!!!!!!

Little Bug and Mama just want everybody to know how special we think Daddy is. He is always there for us when we need him and he takes great care of our family. He is funny and adventurous and even a little crazy at times, but that's why we love him so much. He is dedicated to the Lord and to us and to his country and we are so proud of him. Thanks Randy for being EXCELLENT at every "hat" you wear in our family. You are our inspiration and our joy!!!

Little Bug wants everybody to know how much he loves his Daddy too. Daddy is the very best airplane flyer in the world. He picks me up and airplane flys me all over the house. We skim corners and squeak through doorways and dip down the hallway and fly high over the staircase. We have so much fun and I just giggle and kick my legs the whole time. My Daddy is also the best to take a bubble bath with. We swim and play and he holds on to me really tight because I like to really get going. We have loads of fun splishing and splashing. Thanks for being the best Daddy ever. I love you!!!!!

Happy Birthday Honey and Lovebug Hugs,
Lori and Little Bug and Itty Bitty Bug-a-boo and Abbey too!!!!!!!!

Daddy's On The Move, Once Again..........

Hi Everybody ~
Daddy's busy about the business of leaving again today on a military trip. We sure hate it when daddy has to leave, but we know he is doing a great thing for our country and he will be back in our arms soon. Bye bye Daddy......we'll miss you sooooooooooooo much. We love you!!! And hey Dad, hurry back fast because when you're gone Mama gives me baths in that silly tiny tub that I don't even fit into any more. I don't like it at all!!!!!!!!!! I like it when you give me a bath in the big boy bathtub and we play and swim and splash for a long time. Man am I going to be dirty by the time you come back.

Lovebug Hugs,
Little Bug and Mama

PS ~ Please say extra prayers for Mama's grandma. Her name is Ruth and she is 90 years old. She fell on Friday night and broke her hip and fractured her back. She's in the hospital and has everyone worried sick. I got to go see her yesterday in the hospital with Daddy and Mama and she even smiled at me and said, "Oooohhhhh"! She hasn't been eating real well and the doctors are worried about the possibility of pneumonia setting in. Thanks for all your prayers!!!!

A Day For Remembering......

Well, here it is, March 1st 2007, the official anniversary of Connor's long-term admittance to Children's Hospital. Even though there had been numerous ER visits, overnight visits and even a 1 week stay at Mary Bridge Hospital last year between Connor's birth and the first of March, today is the day that we will remember forever because it launched a journey that we certainly did not buy a ticket for.

Today there is snow on the ground in so many places of Western Washington, but last year it was unseasonably warm and Randy was out mowing our lawn for the first time of the year. It was warm and I remember wanting to plant flowers that day. Randy was preparing to leave for a 2 week military trip that departed the next day so he was busy, busy, busy with getting the yard ready so I wouldn't have to worry about it. I remember noticing throughout the day that Connor seemed a bit warm, but we just pushed it off on the weather until late afternoon, when I was on the phone with the pediatrician and every time I took his temp it kept going higher and higher. In a panic I took him to the doctor and it was confirmed that he needed to go to Children's. How I remember that drive back home to our house to say goodbye to Randy and pack a small bag for Connor and I. Who knew it would literally be months before we were back in our home, sleeping in our own beds. I remember the uncertainty in saying goodbye to Randy and the tears that fell that night as we worried in separate cities for our little boy.

I remember getting to Children's and parking in the ER lot hoping that we would not have to stay. I was met there by my sister-in-law, Maureen (who, by the way, was a HUGE support and encouragement during all of our hospital days!!!) and we waited in the ER for any kind of word on what was going on with Connor. How I wish I would have known then that an explanation would not be in the cards for us for months. Our Little Bug suffered silently and anonymously for so long as he baffled all the doctors and nurses. Those first few days he was such a fighter. He fought and he fought until that dreadful day on March 6th when we rushed him to the ICU and we almost lost our precious son. Oh, just remembering makes my heart sick and my eyes begin to pool up with tears.

And then I look across the room at our Little Bug playing with his toys and bouncing in his bouncy seat and I have to say, "Thank you Lord for the miracle of our son!" His life was spared on numerous occasions because of the prayers of God's people and the merciful nature of our Heavenly Father. I am humbled by my memories today and of the friendships that we made with precious families at Children's Hospital and of the little angels that hover above us as their journey took them into the arms of our Lord. There are many who still struggle. There are many who still grieve. There are many who rejoice. There are many who are still in the battle with illness and disease. May we never forget our journey and the road we have traveled and those we have met along the way.

"Oh Lord, we rejoice because you are a good God. We trust in you still and we remain in your hands. Protect the children near and far and hold them close to your heart. Thank you for our journey with Connor, although we didn't ask for it, it was your will that we travel it and it is your will that we continue upon the road to healing. Lift up our heads to see your plan with our precious son and thank you for this day that we remember how it all started." Amen!

Daddy's Home and Life Rolls On........

We were excited this week by Randy's arrival home a few days early!!!! It's always so good to see him walk through the door. Connor is doing so good and he is improving day by day. It's hard to believe that we are coming up on the one year mark of when we entered Children's Hospital last year, with a fever of all things, that kept Connor in the ICU for so many months. I would be lying if I said I wasn't thinking about that a lot these days, because I am all consumed with what we have all been through and how good God is. We still have our challenges with Connor, especially on the developmental playing field. He continues to have physical and oral therapy once per week at home, which we are so grateful for, and we work with him all the time on his physical development. We see tiny steps, but we are so ready to see some big strides like rolling over, sitting up and holding his head up consistently for long periods of time. How we wish that our hospital stay wouldn't have put him so far behind, but it has and we have a lot of catching up to do. His feeding tube is becoming quite a burden. We want to see him eat by mouth and get rid of this tube for good, but he is nowhere near that point. He is currently off the tube for 6 1/2 hours a day which we are so thankful for. It makes life a lot easier to not pack that backpack around with us when he has his time off. We still see the GI doctor to help us get to the bottom of the reflux problem, but it still persists. We just started a new medicine that we hope will help, but so far, no change after 5 days. Speaking of medicine, we are happy to say that Little Bug is down to only 4 meds per day in the morning and evening. This is a huge answer to prayer for us as we don't want to see him tied down to medicine his entire life. So praise be to the Lord for getting us down to a more manageable medicine regime.

I know it has been quite a while since I really updated on how things were going for Connor so I felt it was high time to give you all some information and some updated prayer requests. We all still appreciated so much your continued prayers and support. Last week when Connor went to the doctor to get his RSV shot he officially weighed in at 22 pounds 9 ounces. So needless to say he is definitely getting harder for me to manage with this ever growing belly of mine. We are just about 5 1/2 weeks away from new baby joining the family and we are prepared and excited.

So life rolls on for the Robertson's one day at a time. We still love reading your comments and we promise to get more pictures up soon.

Happy Hearts Day!!!!!!!!

Hi everyone!! I wanted to wish everybody a very Happy Valentine's Day. This is also National Congenital Heart Defect Awareness Week. I know I am very glad for my repaired heart so that I can spend all these special days and my life with my family. Thank you to all the doctors and nurses that helped my heart get better. I am growing big and strong now and Mama & Daddy take really good care of me, so you go help all the other kids who have trouble with their hearts, OK.

Today my Mama woke me up with thousands of kisses and hugs!!!!! She kept going on and on about me being her valentine and stuff like that, but I really don't know what that means, I know I just liked all of the attention and kisses (as if I don't get any of that!!!!!!!!! Hee Hee). We sure do miss Daddy today. We love you Daddy and we can't wait for you to come home!!! We'll get all sappy and celebrate Valentine's Day when you get home, OK.

Happy Hearts Day and Lovebug Hugs,
Little Bug

PS ~ Mama said to say that Itty Bitty Bug is doing fine. The baby is growing every day and we only have to wait 7 more weeks for Baby Bug to come and meet our family. I'm not sure about this whole Baby Bug thing!!! I thought I was the Baby Bug!!!! I guess it will all make sense around the 7th of April!!!!

Sad Eyes......

Sad eyes fill Little Bug and Mama's hearts today as we say "Bye-Bye" to Daddy. He's taking off on an Air Force Mission for the first time in a couple of months. Randy has been home for an exceptional amount of time because he was in an accident back in December and the flight surgeon put him on the "duty not to include flying list". He has been doing local work in his squadron for the past couple of months but he hasn't had to be away from us. Well, not any more. His back and neck are feeling good enough to fly so they are sending him to "parts unknown" today. We always hate it when Daddy has to leave. Be safe Daddy and we will be waiting for you with open arms when you come home. We Love You Soooooooooooooooo Much!!!!

Birthday Photos - Part II

Here's a great picture of my birthday poster. Thanks again Maryalis.....It's perfect!!!! Hey, I wanted to tell everybody about that cute little "Love Bug" on the righthand side of the poster. Months ago, my daddy's cousin Jill made me a card to wish me well on my recovery in the hospital. She designed this "Love Bug" on a homemade card and my Mama fell in love with it. It's now become my little mascot!!!! I was so happy that Maryalis had the talent to enlarge it bigger than life in my poster!!! Thanks everybody for their great efforts in making sure I had bugs surrounding me on my special day!!!!!!

Ok Daddy, let's go to church!!!! I'm getting dedicated today and I don't want to be late, so put the pedal to the metal dad!!!!!

Birthday & Dedication Photos - Part I

Here's Daddy and Mama praying for me at my dedication. I'm looking intently at my Pastor because he was praying that I would be a mighty man of God one day!!!

Here I am with Pastor Dan. I'm checkin' him out real good because I'm gonna have to listen to lots of sermons by this guy....Hey, I like it, I think I'm gonna be a preacher one day!!!!

I guess I'm pretty sleepy here, I actually fell asleep during my dedication ceremony....Ooops!!!

Mama and Daddy were really proud of me because I listened really good and I never cried during my whole dedication!!
This is my pastor's wife. Her name is Diane. I really love her a lot and she wrote me a very special song from a poem and she sang it at my dedication. She even took a whole bunch of pictures from my blog and put them up on the big screen at church while she sang my song. Everyone was crying, but I thought it was the coolest thing ever. Thank you Pastor Diane!!!

Look at my neat poster that was made by my very special friend Maryalis!!!! She's an artist and my mama gave her some examples of my favorite bug friends and she created this super cool poster for me. Thank you Thank you. I will treasure it always!!!!

Oh my goodness, I don't know what to do with all this attention!!!! Maybe I'll just suck on my fingers for a while!!!

Here I am with Uncle Bryan!!! He got to hold me for a long time at my party while Daddy and Mama were attending to all my other family members that were able to come to my party!! Thanks for the snuggles Uncle Bryan!!

Here's my bug cake that Mama made!!! Isn't it cool!!! There were even Ladybug Cookies that Mama said were a labor of love, but she made them anyway!!!

Look, here's my Grandpa Bruce, Grandma-Nanny RaeAnn, Grandma Ruberta and Grandpa John!!! They're all excited to go through my bug buffet line. Hope the food was good guys....I wish I could have eaten some of it!!!

There's that cake again. This is right after Mama finished it. It took her 5 1/2 hours just to do the cake. Here she is standing on the bar stools to get a picture of the whole thing. She even had to steady herself on the counter with her foot. Mama, c'mon, don't you know you're not supposed to put your feet on the counter....I'm sure you'll tell me that when I'm older!!! I'd at least think you would have painted your toenails if you were gonna show them off like this....Hee Hee!!! Just kidding Mama!!! Thanks for my cool cake!!
Look at me......I'm riding on my new snail rocker that Daddy and Mama gave me for my 1st Birthday. I love it. I can't play on it by myself yet, but I will. I'm getting stronger and stronger every day!!!!!
Well, here's the pictures from my party. This is just part 1. Mama is trying really hard to post more, but she's having a tough time on this computer. Hopefully she'll get more up in the next post.
