Excited and worried....please pray!!!

Hello all you bloggers and prayer warriors.....we are excited and a little worried or should I say "anxious"..... Connor goes in for his swallow study at noon today...so please pray that he will remember how to swallow. I know it sounds crazy but he's been feeding by the NG...NJ...tubes for so long, we are worried that he may not remember how to feed by mouth...so please pray!!!!!

Oh..... and Mommy wants me to let you all know that she is worried that her milk supply may be starting to decrease...AUGH...just about the time Connor may get back to normal feeding!!!! So more prays for lots of vitamin D fortified whole fresh "mommy milk" ......yes last time I checked God has a pretty good sense of humor!!!!! If I could be a bug on the wall to hear those prayers?! :-) Ha

Lovebug hugs.....Dad, Mom and Littlebug

there should be a lactation consultant at the hospital that can help you with the milk supply issue, or call the la leche league. they are very helpful too.

I found this on a congenital heart website, I thought it was appropriate. As always, you are all in our prayers.

"When Time Stands Still"
by Debbie Hilton-Kamm

It starts with news impossible to hear
It conjures up your every fear
It's when they say your child is ill
That's when time just stands still

In that moment, that suspended time
A thousand thoughts run through your mind
Will he ever laugh and play?
Will I see his wedding day?

All the planning, the hopes and dreams
Are put on hold -- just what does this mean?
His crib is empty, his toys alone
For now, the hospital will be his home

This is a place where time stands still
Where the void's too large to ever fill
For in a hospital's intensive care
Children lie, some unconscious, some aware

And time is measured by a new yardstick
Every second marked by a monitor's tick
Noting every breath the child takes
And every beat his tired heart makes

Just a moment of watching a child writhe or strain
In sedated confusion, or fear or pain
Or pleading for a drink to which you can't oblige
Seems like far more than an entire lifetime

And the children who live far too long
In hospital gowns, trying to be strong
They have old souls, that's what they say
Because in each moment they've lived a thousand days

For those who say time goes by too fast
Sit with an ill child, and see just how slowly time can pass

HEAVENS VERY SPECIAL CHILD By Edna Massimilla

A metting was held quite far from earth
It was time again for another birth.
Said the Angels to the Lord above, "This special child will need much love.
His progress may be very slow. Accomplishment he may not show.
And he will require extra care, from the folks he meets down there.
He may not run or laugh or play,
His thoughts may seem quite far away.
So many times he will be labeled,
Diffrent, helpless and disabled.
So lets be careful where he is sent.
We want his life to be content.
Please Lord find parents who will do a special job for you.
They will not realize right away,
the leading role they are asked to play.
But with this child sent from above,
comes stronger faith, and richer love.
And soon they will know the privilege given,
in caring for their gift from heaven.
Their precious charge, so meek and mild.
Is heavens very special child.

Hi Lori,
WE hope and pray that you guys got great results today from the swallowing test.

As far as the breast milk supply..... have you heard of "Mothers Milk tea?" It is in the natural food section at Fred Meyer.

Hello Lori,

We've been praying for baby Connor for several weeks now, since coming to serve on the pastoral staff at Northwest Family Church in Auburn and tonight I received an e-mail from a good friend who is from Anchorage, Alaska (originally) and I believe you know her too...DeAnna Jones. She and her husband, Greg are now living in Georgia. She became a friend while I was one of the pastor's wives at Sound Life Church in Tacoma and she and Greg were newlyweds in our church. Isn't it amazing how God brings people across our paths!

Please know we'll continue to pray for Connor and will now check up on him often.

Blessings,

Pat Matheny

Hi Connor- What good news you moved to another room. Yeah!! Tell Mommy to just pray to the "Liquid Gold" (that's what I call it)Angel for her milk supply & it will come in full blast. Promise! Thank you for my lovely outfits. They are so pretty. I will send you a picture of me in them...Try to contain yourself- hee hee. Oh, and my Mommy & Daddy sent you a little something in the mail. Hope you like it. Well, gotta go for now but you keep on that road to getting big & strong. I'll see you in our dreams. Love-Princess Morgan
