6 more weeks at least.....

After much deliberation about Connor's situation, the infectious disease department here at Children's have declared little bug's temps as "fevers of unknown origin". UUGGGHHHH!!!!!!!!!! They did an ultrasound this afternoon on the subclavical bone and found that there was not a blood clot, which is good, so they have decided, at least for now, not to do an MRI. Instead, they have chosen a 6 week round of IV antiboitics to attack the "unknown" cause of these fevers. How I pray this is the right course of action. I'm not convinced, but I'm trusting the doctors with this decision.

I can't even imagine 6 more weeks, and that doesn't even include open heart surgery for his AV Canal repair. Yikes, I had no idea we would be looking at this long of a hospital stay in the first place and now to know that the extension of our time here is going to be another 6 weeks......WOW. I think I must be in survival mode right now because in the back of my mind I'm thinking, "OK, 6 more weeks, sure, we can do that." But then when I really stop for a moment I realize that we've already seen the seasons change once around here, and now we might also say hello to the first day of summer in the hospital as well. Good grief!!!

As for Connor, he has had a fever all day. It hasn't broke once since 4am!!! Nothing has helped to bring him out of this all day!!! Normally he responds to cool baths or medication at least for a short time, but today, nothing seems to work. Please pray that he could somehow break the cycle and find rest tonight.

Lovebug Hugs for now,
Lori

Lori & Randy, God will be your sustenance. He will be your strength. I can't imagine what you must be going through at this very moment. I wish I had some magic words to encourage your hearts, but I don't. I do know that God can miraculously encourage your hearts, so that is what I will pray tonigt as I also pray for that stubborn fever to disappear. I hope that you are taking care of yourself in the midst of all of this craziness. You know, as I typed that I just thought..."What are you talking about Heather? You know what "mommy mode" is like!" However, you must take care of yourself. Remember, Little Connor loves you dearly and wants you to be rested up. My Lauren often asks me to go to bed at the same time that she does. She knows that I am a better mommy when I'm not so tired. :) Kids! You just gotta love them.

I love you all and am praying now.

How sad John and I are reading about Connor. He just can't quite make it around that bend of the road. We are so sorry and sad that the three of you are having to go through this. We are sure that God has a reason but we mortals just can't figure it out. I was told once that God may not show up when you want Him to BUT He always shows up in time. I've always like that, it will be in His own time, and we will continue to pray for Connor and his mom and dad. My good friend in Kennewick has asked her special angel (her grandson) to give Herman a helping hand. Together they should do a good job.
Love and Prayers,
Mo's mom and dad

So we will "PRESS ON" with our prayers. We won't cease, even for a moment, because we believe in complete healing for Conner.

Yes, 6 weeks seems like a long time in the span of a season, but God's spectrum, and if you begin to see healing and comfort for hm within maybe a few days of when they start the antibiotics, I know God's peace will be with you guys. And he will sustain you through this too!!!

I love you guys!

Andrea

I'm so sorry to read this news tonight about at least 6 more weeks in the hospital. I can't even imagine what that must have been like to receive that news. Pryaing those iv antibiotics do the trick and clear up whatever is going on. Praying for Connor's fever to break tonight so he can get a good night's rest.

Dear Lori, just like so many have expressed to you our prayers will not cease they will just become more intense for Connor and for you and Randy. Oh how we pray that the fever will break so he can rest and that the Lord will give even more insight to the doctors. We just pray that God holds you close in llTimothy 4:17 it says BUT the Lord stood with (Connor and his daddy and mama) and STRENGTHENED THEM,....." just like the lady above said the Lord is carrying you all right now you may not feel that but He is He has promised never to leave you.

We love you so very much.
Give Connor loves for us ok
Love Dad and Mom XOXOXOXOXOXO

Just know that the Lord has his loving arms wrapped around Little Bug and your family. Seek your peace in His presence and he will bring calm during this storm. It is so hard to wonder at God's purpose - but your faith will be rewarded. You are all in our prayers daily.
God bless you.

Came in to work this a.m. to find your news of 6 more weeks. To us humans 6 weeks can seem soooo long but we know from God's viewpoint 6 week isn't even a blink of an eye. For some reason He need you there, hard as it seems. You are right "you can do this" all your friend will be here holding you all in our hearts and prayers. He will give you strength to do what is necessary. How we pray that this 6 weeks will be the answer for your little lovebug. May the Dr. find the right solution and we pray this will take care of this pesky infection. Loved your cheeseburger episode!!! I'd have probably beat down the drive=through window. We prayed for you guys at Women's Ministries last night (as we do everytime we gather for anything at church) You are continually lifted up at LifeSpring. We love you all so much.

Dear Randy and Lori,

My name is Dawn. You do not know me but I attend a Bible Study with one of your friends in Virginia. I just want you to know that many are out here, that you do not know, who are praying for you and your precious Connor daily. And, at times, crying with you too. In this uncertain world there is always one thing we can cling to that does not change. God, and His goodness and faithfulness to us. In times like these it is good to know that there is at least one constant in our lives. I do not mean to preach, as I know I am preaching to the "choir" but I just want you to be encouraged that there are so many people praying and helping you to carry this load.

Thank you for sharing and allowing me the priviledge of walking with you thorugh this time.

In my prayers daily and often,
Dawn
