Long day......

I had hoped for decisions today, but "No Deal"!! Today was a long day of waiting to hear from the GI department to see how they want to proceed with Little Bug while he is still intibated. The consult with them was long and involved today and the word when they left the room was, "I'll be back shortly to let you know what we think." Finally at 7pm they called the nurse and said they would be in tomorrow morning. So, nothing new today. Connor remains on the breathing tube and sedated most of the time. This afternoon he had about a 1/2 hour where his eyes were open and he got to "flirt" with Mama a little. Oh how I love see those ocean blue eyes!!!!!

It was nice to see Uncle Loren & Aunt Kathy today. They were so sweet to stop by our home in Auburn and mow the lawn before Randy gets home. Kathy worked inside the house vacuuming and dusting too. We appreciate you guys so much for jumping in and helping us when we are not able to be at home right now. Loren we hope you enjoy a fun day out on the water with your new boat tomorrow, you deserve a little relaxation!!!! Thanks again, I love you guys!!!

Mom M. also came this afternoon on her way home from watching Connor's 3 Milliren cousins. We all had a great dinner of left overs together and a great visit. Thanks mom for being willing to fill your freezer with yet another deposit of breast milk. WOW.....we really have quite a collection going!!!!

Tomorrow will be a fresh day and another opportunity for God to intervene on Connor's behalf. We believe there is a miracle on the way for Little Bug and we anticipate with great joy the moving hand of God in our situation here at the hospital. As we unite our prayers tonight, let it be one of glory and praise because we do serve a mighty God!!!

Lovebug Hugs,
Lori

Lori,
What a blessing to have so much family there who are willing and I'm sure thrilled to help you and Randy out. I so wish I were there to help out as well and I just have to say a HUGE THANK YOU to all of them for taking care of my dear friend. It is so hard being on the opposite side of the country in body when my heart is in Seattle. It is a joy to know your families are caring for you both.
Know that I am praying today for positive words of encouragement from the doctors.
I spoke with some of my new friends at choir practice last night and they shared with me that the faithfully pray for Connor daily. What a blessing the family of God is.
Please give Little Bug a big kiss from his Auntie Heather and whisper "I Love You" in his ear for me as well. I love you both!
Heather

Lori, this was in the "Streams in the Desert", devotional today and I thought of you and all you are experiencing so will share it with you and hope it isn't too long and gives you a measure of comfort in all you are enduring . . . . .

"Pressed out of measure and pressed to all length;
Pressed so intesely it seems, beyond strength;
Press in the body and pressed in the soul,
Pressed in the mind till the dark surges roll.
Pressure by foes, and a pressure from friends.
Pressure on pressure, till life nearly ends.
Pressed into knowing no helper but God;
Pressed into loving the staff and the rod.
Pressed into liberty where nothing clings;
Pressed into faith for impossible things.
Pressed into living a life in the Lord,
Pressed into living a Christ-life outpoured."

"The pressure of hard places makes us value life. Every time our life is given back to us from such a trial, it is like a new beginning and we learn better how much it is worth, and make more of it for God and man. The pressure helps us to understand the trials of others, and fits us to help and sympathize with them.
There is a shallow, superficial nature, that gets hold of a theory or a promise lightly, and talks very glible about the distrust of those who shrink from every trial; but the man or woman who has suffered much never does this, but is very tender and gentle, and knows what suffering really means. This what Paul meant when he said, "Death in worketh in you".
Trials and hard places are needed to press us forward, even as the furnace fires in the hold of that mighty ship give force that moves the piston, drives the engine, and propels that great vessel across the sea in the face of winds and waves." A. B. Simpson

Our hearts go out to you as you go through this fiery trial, the waiting and wondering, but you truly have shown such a beautiful spirit of Christ in it all and have manifested it to those others who are going through their trials.
May God give you the desires of your heart as you continue this very challenging journey.

Blessings,
Judy

Lori and Randy, As you know we have been out of town. So extremely sorry to hear about the rough times you have had lately. Even though we were gone, all of you were so close to our hearts.

Lori, if you need any additional freezer space, we have lots and I would be glad to come and pick up milk..!! Please just let me know.

We all continue to pray for healing, peace and strength.

We love you all, Gary, Lynette, Zachary, Lucas and Savannah

We are continuing to pray for Little Bug and his undoubtedly weary parents. We also pray for the wisdom of his doctors. I hope that you will be able to find a solution that allows you to continue to feed Connor your breastmilk. It sounds like other bloggers had hopeful advice about being able to mix it with the predigested formula. I can only imagine your frustration at being unable to do this one thing for him. I pray that Connor will be able to use your lovingly collected milk. You have been so dedicated! Pumping every few hours is a lot of work. If it turns out that he cannot (or simply that he won't be able to use all of your large stockpile before it gets too old), perhaps you could donate it for other babies. I know if it was me I would hate to think of it all going to waste. If you are interested, here's a website with info on breastmilk donation: http://www.lalecheleague.org/llleaderweb/LV/LVAprMay00p19.html

Again, you are always in our thoughts and prayers.

All the best,
Susan, Jason, and Tyler

Lori and Randy, my thoughts and prayers are with you during this journey. I only found about Little Bug's amazing little life and the challenges that lay before him or I would have connected with you much sooner. I would love to come and visit you and Little Bug at the hospital. When would be a good time to come and spend some time with you? Love, Carrie Conklin, 425.770.2201

It seems as if the last few days have been a real roller coaster of emotion, and poor little bug has had a lot of invasion upon his tiny body. I haven't posted a comment in awhile because sometimes it seems that there is just nothing to add to all of the wonderful supportive messages your family receives.

I think about your all daily, and I hope and pray that one day soon you will be able to reflect upon this experience from the comfort of your own home.

Hugs to momma and little bug, you are both so strong, and you will overcome all of this.
