Back to the O.R. on Tuesday!!!

Thanks for all the prayers of love, support and encouragement from the last entry. Yes, it was very difficult to slip backwards and end up back in the ICU. However, one good thing as come out of it. There is a plan that is being set in motion for Connor. Tuesday morning he will undergo surgery, once again. This one is the PA Band surgery. They will be going into his pulmonary artery and banding it tighter so that so much blood flow doesn't go to the lungs. We met with the surgeon today and he explained it all perfectly. We feel confident with this surgeon and with his expertise in this area. His name is Dr. Permeiut (sp??) and he comes very highly recommended.

They will be using a vibrating saw to cut into little bugs chest (how scary does that sound!!!) and then they will use very small instruments to get into the pulmonary artery to do the band. He will be on the ventulator for a few days and will remain in the ICU for quite a bit longer. They will be watching him closely to make sure that he tolerates the tightness of the band and that it doesn't cause more problems. We ask for your increased prayers at 11:00am Tuesday as they prepare his little body for surgery. We should get to see him in recovery by 2:00 or 3:00pm.

Tonight Randy and I were able to give him 1 of 3 antiseptic baths that he needs before going into the operating room. I realized as I scrubbed his tiny little body with yucky smelling antiseptic that this would be the last time I would ever bathe him without seeing a scar across his chest. That made me cry to think of what he will go through in the morning. But, I know that as we send our hearts into surgery with Connor that God's heart is already there in the operating room and He will hold Connor when we cannot!!

I will write more tomorrow and I will try to add a whole pile of pics that I have been waiting to post. Daddy is working on a post at the same time as me with a couple of pics so I will let that sufice for now.

Goodnight and Lovebug Hugs,
Lori

Lori and Randy,
Please know that we will all be praying for surgery, and this morning we have our pastorial staff meeting and we will lift Connor up in prayer there too! We are so glad that Randy is back with you, what strength that must give to you and to him. It must be sooo hard to see Connor go into that surgery but we will trust and pray that this will be the step that will begin a journey of recovery and healing for this little guy and end this cycle once and for all!!!!! Your mom sharred with me on the phone that she has witnessed such "a little fighter" that is within Connor as she was in the room during one of his horrible episodes of pain. I have to think that he truly is an OVERCOMER and he has only proven this time and time again. He will prove this through this surgery too!! It is sooo hard to understand "why" and "how" Connor has to go through all of this but I do know that our only choice is to Trust in the Lord. Sometimes those words are easier said than done but just like the story your mom says about Corey Tim.......... God gives us the tickets right when we need them, never early and never too late. Lori, you are so blessed to have the parents and family that you have to help you and Randy through all of this and I know you already know this. Continue to hold onto the TRUTH and know that there is an army around you Randy and Connor that are holding up your arms for you as you are so tired and weary. You guys are nothing but amazing and a breath of fresh air.
Love
Tammy and James

Randy and Lori,
Once again, God's mercies are new for you this morning. Thank you God! What a blessing it is to know that even when life seems so difficult and confusing, that God is right there. I was just sharing with Lauren as I dropped her off at school that Jesus is right there with her. When she has difficulty in class while she sits at her desk, she is not alone, Jesus is sitting right at that desk with her, listening to her every request to him to help her. She said, "Since there isn't room for him to sit next to me at the desk, I know he is sitting inthe chair and I am sitting right in His lap." Isn't that awesome, to know that we are sitting right inthe lap of God?!?!!!! Likewise, Connor is right in the arms of God. While the two of you are sitting in the waiting room today, know that you are sitting right in God's lap. God once gave me a picture of myself sitting in his lap with my face buried in His chest. WHAT LOVE!!! That alone brings hope to my heart. Let it bring hope to yours.

I meet with my Bible study group this morning and we will all agree in prayer for Connor. I will be praying at 11:00 that the surgeons hands will be completely guided by the hands of God. Connor's heart is not in the hands of the doctors, but in the hands of God.

I love you all!

Heather

Connor, you are such a strong little bug, you just keep fighting! Love you TONS!

Randy, Lori & Connor,

I know that today will be a very stressful and emotional day for you. I am sorry that I could not be there with you, but please know that I will be praying for you, and especially for Connor that God will give the surgeons wisdom, skill, and gentleness when they are working on Connor. My heart and my thoughts go out to you, because I know what you are going through today.

I love all of you very much, and I know that Mom will call me when the operation is over.

Lovebug hugs and kisses,

Randy & Lori,

I have already been praying...Lord, be with Connor, right next to him during surgery. Surround him with a multitude of heavenly angels. Give the doctor's gentle but confident hands, Lord. We will give you all the praise for working in & through these wonderful doctor's & nurses. Grant peace & comfort to Randy & Lori while waiting for Connor to come out of a successful surgery. Heal the problem that's caused this cycle in him & make him an OVERCOMER & VICTORIOUS.

Thank You, Lord. We love you & Praise you for your mercies thus far. AMEN.

Wish I could be there with you but know that my heart will be. Love You all.

Lori, Randy & Connor~

We are praying for all three of you and the entire surgical team for today's procedure. We know that God will guide their hands and hearts while caring for Little Bug. Isn't it good to know that God will also be holding you so close at the same time?! Please know that we will continue to pray for Connor all day today and throughout his recovery.

We love you and look forward to our visit in two days.

Love,

Auntie Heather, Brayden and Bergen
(Olivia and Bryan are at school right now. I know that they, too, are praying for Connor.)

P.S. So how many Easter eggs did Connor discover under his blankets?

Welcome home Randy! Isn't God so good to bring you home at just the right time?!
