Kissing Heaven..........

Have you ever kissed heaven? Well, last night I had the great privilege of doing just that. Our precious baby Michael, affectionately called Miracle Michael and Michael Michael Motorcycle went into the sweet arms of our Lord last night. He is the most amazing baby and he fought the good fight so bravely and with the most courage. His parents are the sweetest people and they have become lifelong friends. They lovingly allowed me the privilege of saying goodbye to baby Michael late last night. I realized when my lips touched his precious little head that my lips had just kissed a piece of heaven. With tears running down my face I had the wonderful revelation that when the Lord entrusts us with children that he is really entrusting us with a part of himself, a part of heaven. When we love our children, we are in turn, loving him and giving him honor for this most wonderous creation, our children!! Michael and his parents have taught me about what it means to love and to sacrifice. They have released their most priceless gift of love back to God. May they know the precious comfort of our Heavenly Father in the coming days and may they reach back to Heaven often for glimpses of joy in the memories of baby Michael.

When I left the room last night there was a quiet comfort and peace that surrounded the hallways. I briefly slipped into Connor's room to squeeze his little hand and tell him that I loved him and that Michael was up in Heaven looking out over him. When I touched Little Bug, I realized as I had moments earlier with Michael, that I was once again touching and kissing Heaven. In my child I see the angels, I see the face of our Lord and I see the glory and joy of eternity. What splendid confirmation it is for me to look at Little Bug and be reminded that we are given blessings and bundles of love for what may be only mere moments for some and for others it may be lifetimes, but yet all of them are slices of the Lord's love and pieces of Heaven.

Rest now sweet baby Michael and feel your healing. Oh Lord, be with the Whitney's today and always and comfort them with your love. Allow them peace and understanding for the days ahead and impress upon their hearts the tenderness of your care for them. May they know how deeply they and their son have touched those who have loved and cared for them. Amen!!

Lovebug Hugs,
Lori

Lori~

I cannot fathom letting go of my child. But, your words spoke so gently to my heart that I am encouraged for Michael and his family. Just think, Michael is no longer in pain and he is in the arms of the Lord. On the other hand, the Whitneys have to wait for a grand reunion in heaven before seeing their precious little one again. I know that you, Randy and Connor have offered them great encouragement and comfort over the past several months. It all is part of God's master plan as to why our Little Bug has taken up residency at Children's ICU. Be comforted and encouraged today by your own words of "kissing heaven."

I love you sis,

Heather

Lori, I remember that a week or so ago I wrote stating that your stay at children's was a sign that the LORD still needed you there. Now I know, you have been placed there for a reason. Baby Michael's family needed you. What a blessing to have someone with your perception to turn to when life's challenges happen. Thank You for being GOD'S vessel Ofelia Ayala

Lori,
The words come to my mind, "For such a time as this..." What a blessing you have been to so many around you. The Whitneys will be in my prayers. I cannot know what they are feeling at this moment but what a comfort to know that our heavenly Father knows exactly what they are feeling and his desire is to hold them through this all.

I am so sorry I have not written often lately. Life as you know sometimes snowballs on us. Such is the case at this moment. I check the blog several times each day and pray for Connor and you and Randy so often. I miss you all so much and can't wait to be able to visit with you.

It is so exciting to hear that the evidence of prayers being answered is being seen. We KNOW that our Father hears our prayers and answers them, it's just good to actually SEE with our physical eyes what we KNOW with our spiritual eyes. THANK YOU GOD for your faithfulness!!!!

I will be praying for Randy as he is away again and for your strength and peace in his absence.

Connor, you keep getting better. I can't wait to meet you face to face. Speaking of your face, it just keeps getting cuter and cuter. I have to agree with mommy, you are the cutest little bug EVER! I pray for you so often. Guess what! There are people all over Virginia who ask me regularly how you are doing and pray for you with such ferver daily. I bet you have more people praying for you around the world than just about anyone! Howe lucky is that?! :) I love you Little Bug! XOXO

Very, very touching article, Lori. And a tearful one. Good bye, sweet Michael, we will see you in eternity some day. This world is passing away but the kingdom of God and of His Christ will remain forever and ever, hallelujah!

My heart is so touched by your words this morning. God has you there "for such a time as this" to be a blessing and encouragement to Michael's family. We had prayer at Women's Ministries last night, as we do a LifeSpring when we gather for anything. We will zero in on "Little Bug's" airway situation now. We pray for healing and for wisdom for the docs. Our prayers will also be for Michael's family. Another angel has been promoted to return home. You have indeed kissed heaven. Our prayers are also with Randy when he has to be away from you and Connor. I know that is so hard for both of you. Thankfully, the periods are not real long, though I'm sure they seem to be. You are all such an example of what faith in God can do to carry us through the hard time. We love you. JoAnn & Rip

Lori,
I can not tell you how much you mean to me. The words you spoke brought tears rolling down my face, not for sadness, but for this gift that God has given us. He blessed us with Michael for a short 4 months, and for you and your compassion and kindness. You have touched my heart and my faith is stronger because of you and your family. I pray to have your strength and compassion so I may give back to you and others in their time of need. YOU are truely an angel sent from God to be placed in our lives forever. We love you.
God Bless you, Conner- we love you little bug!
